Welcome to Smart Cookies Nursery, a family-run early learning and childcare establishment located in the heart of the historic village of Falkland. Since our inception in 2007, we have built a strong reputation for our commitment to providing high-quality care and education to children from approximately 1 year of age until they start school. Our nursery is registered with The Care Inspectorate, which ensures that we adhere to the necessary standards and regulations.

Our Aims

At Smart Cookies Nursery, we strive to create an environment that fosters happiness, kindness, and a love for learning. We believe that every child is a 'smart cookie', defined as someone who has accomplished something noteworthy, be it learning something new or being kind to a friend. Our dedicated team of professionals works closely with parents and carers to ensure that each child receives individualized care and attention, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Opening Hours

We are open 52 weeks of the year, except for half-days at both Christmas and New Year. Our opening hours are from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and we offer both full and part-time places, with flexible options available to accommodate 'shift' work.

Working in Partnership with Parents

We value the input of parents and carers and welcome their suggestions and advice. We believe that working closely together ensures that we understand each child's unique needs and can provide the best possible care and support. Our excellent reputation is a testament to the strong relationships we have built with our parents and carers, with most of our enquiries coming from word-of-mouth recommendations.

Policies and Procedures

We have an open-door policy, which means that parents and carers are welcome to visit us at any time. We maintain up-to-date records for each child and have policies and procedures in place that align with current legislation and guidance. These documents are available upon request.

Our Location

Smart Cookies Nursery is located in a large, historic building in the picturesque village of Falkland. We are surrounded by old cottages, marriage lintels, thatched and pan-tiled roofs, cobbled streets, and even a palace! This unique environment provides fantastic opportunities for outdoor play and learning, with plenty of signs, shapes, colors, animals, numbers, and road safety lessons to be learned.

Our local community is an integral part of our nursery, and we are involved in various aspects of village life, including visiting local shops for groceries, buying gifts, and posting letters. Our children come from far and wide, and we are proud to be part of this vibrant and diverse community.
