Our Services
We offer a wide range of specialist engineering services, all under one roof at our recently refurbished and expanded Southampton premises. Our services include CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Gear Cutting, Grinding, Honing, Lapping, and Minor Assemblies. We are proud to supply precision machined components to the Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical, Formula 1 & Performance Sports Car, and Commercial markets.
CNC Turning
Our 5 Axis CNC Machining Centre Turn/Mill enables us to manufacture items with turned diameters, flats, and cross-holes in one operation. With sub-spindle, this offers Turn Mill facility in one operation. We have 6 CNC Lathes on site, ranging in capacity, turning components from as little as 0.062" dia. up to 10" dia.
CNC Milling
We have Duguard & Bridgeport 3 & 4 Axis CNC machining centres, with X Axis 660mm, Y Axis 520mm, and Z Axis 510mm. We also have a twin arm 24 station ATC carousel type, with a standard spindle speed of 8000rpm.
Gear Cutting
With over 40 years' experience in Gear Cutting, we are able to manufacture and supply many types of gears, including Spur and Helical Gears, Worms and Worm Wheels, Involute Splines, Chain Sprockets, Timing Belt Pulleys, Internal Gears, and Straight Sided Serrations.
Grinding
We offer a number of differing types of grinding to suit your particular project. Our grinding services include Surface Grinding, Cylindrical Grinding, and Centreless Grinding.
Honing
We specialize in Match Grinding, and together with Solid Lapping, we can achieve surface finishes down to 0.5 Micro inch. We have the capability to hone bores with very fine surface finishes, and our honing services include both manual and automatic honing.
Lapping
Our precision lapping services include Flat Lapping and Polishing, as well as Cylindrical Lapping of Bores. We can achieve surface finishes down to 0.5 Micro inch CLA, and our lapping services include both manual and automatic lapping.
Quality
At Williams Aerospace Engineering, we take quality very seriously. Our comprehensive temperature-controlled Inspection department offers a wide range of measuring capabilities, including Roundness, Cylindricity, and Profile measurement. We are proud to hold the latest accreditation to AS 9100, and our comprehensive quality control testing conforms to BS EN ISO 9001 & AS9100 requirements.
