CNC Turning
Our 5-axis CNC turning capabilities enable single-operation production of components with turned diameters, flats, and cross-holes. With six lathes handling diameters from 1.5mm to 250mm, we achieve tight tolerances for aerospace and industrial applications. Our Hyundai Kia SKT21 machine with Fanuc 21i control provides maximum swing diameter of 550mm and turning length of 410mm, ensuring efficiency and accuracy for complex geometries.
Gear Cutting
With over 40 years' experience, we produce spur and helical gears, worm wheels, and involute splines to exacting standards. Our Sykes and Dowding & Doll machines enable 24-hour turnaround for urgent projects. We serve classic vehicle restorers and major aerospace manufacturers, creating gears for high-performance cars, heavy machinery, and aircraft systems with precision down to 0.5 micro-inch surface finishes.
Honing
Our CNC honing processes achieve surface finishes down to 0.5 micro-inch for critical hydraulic components. Specialising in match grinding for aerospace valves, we combine advanced machinery with skilled technicians to deliver precision bores. This expertise ensures metal-to-metal sealing integrity for hydraulic systems in extreme operating environments where reliability is paramount.
Lapping
We provide flat and cylindrical lapping services achieving 1 light band flatness and 0.5 micro-inch finishes. Our capabilities include lapping surfaces up to 150mm diameter and bores from 1.168mm to 38.10mm. Using specialised plates, slurries, and compounds, we meet exacting flatness and surface finish requirements for aerospace and automotive sealing applications.
Quality Control
Our temperature-controlled inspection department utilises CNC vision systems, CMMs, and hardness testing equipment calibrated by NAMAS-approved laboratories. We maintain AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications through rigorous quality checks, including roundness measurement, surface finish analysis, and dimensional verification to ensure every component meets exact specifications before dispatch.
