At Turning Point Theatre Arts, we are more than just a performing arts school based in Lancaster - we are a team and a family! Our emphasis is on the pure enjoyment of expression, creativity, and participation, for children and adults of all ages to experience. We offer a wide range of services, including dance classes, examinations, and performances, as well as holiday clubs and physiotherapy sessions.
Our Dance Studio is truly one of a kind, with a unique atmosphere and state-of-the-art dancing floors. All of our dance instructors are personable and fully certified to teach dancing at all levels, whether your focus is technique, flexibility, or just looking for a new way to work out. We pride ourselves on providing a supportive and encouraging environment for our students to grow and flourish.
Our Services
We offer a varied timetable in syllabus and non-syllabus work for children aged 2-18 and adults. Our classes include ballet, pointe, commercial dance, modern, acro, adult classes, jazz, aerial, vibe, hive, tap, and show performance. We are proud to be associated with leading dance examination boards, such as the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), the British Ballet Organization (BBO), and the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA).
In addition to our dance classes, we also offer physiotherapy sessions, holiday clubs, and opportunities for our students to perform in our annual show. We believe that these opportunities help to build confidence, develop skills, and create lasting memories for our students.
Our Team
Our team is made up of dedicated and passionate individuals who are committed to providing the best possible experience for our students. All of our staff have enhanced CRB clearance, are fully insured, have first aid certification, and child chaperone licenses. Our principal, Gail Marie Johnstone, has many years of experience in the industry and is dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for our students.

Variety of Classes and Performances
Students at Turning Point have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of performances, including opening the Silverstone Grand Prix race, Blackpool Opera House, and Disneyland Paris. The school offers an impressive variety of classes, from tap to valet, as well as singing and musical theatre.

The school's staff are incredibly supportive, not only in dance development but also in mental health and wellbeing. The staff, including Miss Gail, Miss Holly, Miss Melinda, and Miss Vickey, are highly skilled and dedicated to providing a positive and nurturing environment.
