Here at Copford Sawmill, we are a family-run business founded in 1987 by Alex & Gina Gingell. We take pride in supplying bespoke timber to our customers, catering to their exact needs. Our in-house timber grader is TRADA registered to BS5756, enabling us to supply oak graded to TH1, TH2, THA, and THB, covering D30-D60. This meticulous grading process ensures that our customers receive top-quality timber that meets their specific requirements.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to meet the unique needs of our customers. Our milling service allows us to mill timber to our customers' specifications, providing them with precise cuts and sizes. We can mill beams from 1m to 10m, and our section size varies greatly, so we encourage our customers to contact us for a free, no-obligation quote. We grade and mill everything on-site, ensuring that our customers receive their timber exactly as they need it, cut to their precise calculations.
In addition to our milling service, we also offer contract milling, where we can cut our customers' own timber for them. This service is charged hourly or by volume, depending on the timber. We also offer machining services, where we can clean up our customers' timber for an extra cost. This includes planing beams or flattening slabs. Furthermore, we can provide construction services, where we pre-joint oak frames as a kit or work with our customers to bring their plans to life.
