Goring by Sea Cricket and Football Club

Established in 1877, Goring by Sea Cricket and Football Club has been a cornerstone of local sports for over 145 years. As founding members of the Sussex Invitation League, we secured six titles in the first eleven seasons and achieved Sussex County League status for our First and Second Elevens in 2008. Our First XI reached the Second Division in 2011, competing at the highest level in our history. Today, we field four senior cricket teams across Sussex County League divisions, alongside a thriving junior section for ages 4-16, including girls-only Dynamos and U11 teams. Our football division, formed in 1978, includes competitive Saturday and Sunday sides, with a ladies team established in 2020. The club maintains Goring Recreation Ground, where we host matches and community events, and operates winter indoor cricket through the Worthing Indoor Cricket League.

With over 100 junior participants, we prioritise skill development, inclusivity, and fostering lifelong sporting engagement. Our volunteer-led ground maintenance team, supported by professional groundsman Chris Geere, ensures high-quality facilities for players and spectators. The club's heritage includes notable figures like Arthur Somerset Sr, who played for Sussex CCC and MCC, and Jason Lewry, a Sussex and England 'A' representative. We remain committed to community growth, evidenced by our successful All Stars and Dynamos programmes, which have revitalised junior cricket participation post-pandemic.
