Our History
Our story begins in the late 1970s, when our founder, Geoffrey Goodyear, a skilled joiner by trade, decided to start his own business making handmade kitchens. With an obvious need for a workshop, a large disused hen shed in the garden was converted into a workshop. Based in the village of Rufford, demand for Mr. Goodyear's handmade kitchens increased, and it wasn't long before a few more sheds appeared. Business continued to grow throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with the addition of extensive kitchen, bathroom, and furniture showrooms. In the 2000s, furniture became such a large part of our business that we decided to focus solely on furniture, and the rest, as they say, is history.
