Our founder, the masterful Terry Baker, passed down his knowledge and skills to the current team, who continue to use traditional tools and techniques to create our handcrafted tanks. Richard Phelps
Richard, our managing director, is a lifelong motorsport enthusiast with a background in metal finishing and fabricating car components. He joined TAB Classics through his marriage to the founder's daughter and has since become an integral part of the business. Richard takes care of assembly, polishing, finishing, and final packing, ensuring every tank meets our impeccable standards. He is also the primary contact for customer communication, working closely with clients to bring their visions to life.
Aline Phelps
Growing up in the presence of her renowned father, Aline developed a deep understanding of motorcycles and fuel tank fabrication. She now works as our primary shaper, using traditional hammer and dolly techniques alongside her mastery of the English Wheel. Aline's artistic eye and dedication to preserving her father's legacy ensure the continued production of beautifully crafted, traditional fuel tanks.
Tom Smyth
A recent addition to the TAB Classics team, Tom joined us in early 2023 after working as a welder for local garages. With his keen eye for metal-shaping and gas-welding skills, Tom has become an invaluable asset to our workshop. His passion for motorsport drives him to continually hone his craft and contribute to the creation of exceptional alloy motorcycle fuel tanks.
