Premier Sports & Social Club in Thornton Cleveleys
Established in 1931, Norbreck Bowling & Tennis Club has been a cornerstone of the Thornton Cleveleys community for over nine decades. Our club was founded by Mr Walter Spencer with a vision to create a community hub, evolving from a modest beginning to a premier facility offering crown green bowls, tennis, petanque, snooker, pool, and darts. We maintain two all-weather tennis courts resurfaced in 2022, a dedicated snooker room with full-size tables, and a newly installed petanque court, ensuring year-round accessibility. Our historic function room, complete with a dance floor and sound system, hosts weddings, anniversaries, and community events, while our bar provides a welcoming social space. With a membership history dating back to 1938 and over 250 members at its peak, we combine tradition with modern facilities. Our team preserves the club's heritage while introducing contemporary activities like line dancing and bingo evenings. We actively support local initiatives and maintain partnerships with organisations like TeeZone Entertainments for event bookings. Our commitment to quality is reflected in our well-maintained grounds, including a bowling green described as a 'jewel in the Fylde Coast bowls crown'. We provide competitive membership packages and flexible function room hire options for non-members. As a registered limited company with historical ties to Bispham with Norbreck Council, we uphold standards of excellence in community sports provision.
