Empowering the Scottish Borders through music, one note at a time
Nestled in the heart of Peebles, Nomad Beat is a vibrant music school that has become a cornerstone of the local community. Founded in 2010 by passionate musician Alison Cameron, the school has blossomed into a bustling center for music education and performance. We believe in the power of music to connect people, foster creativity, and empower individuals of all ages and abilities.
Our Mission: Fueling Musical Potential
Our mission is to provide a welcoming and accessible space where individuals can explore their musical potential. We achieve this through:
- Music Lessons: Guided by experienced tutors, students can learn new instruments like guitar, piano, violin, and voice, or delve deeper with advanced ABRSM or Trinity College London exams.
- Outreach Sessions: We take music beyond the classroom, offering transformative sessions to individuals facing dementia, experiencing mental health challenges, and those with additional needs.
- Community Events: Our dedicated tutors and volunteers host regular performances, workshops, and events that bring the community together through the universal language of music.
A Team of Enthusiastic Tutors
At Nomad Beat, we are fortunate to have a team of highly skilled and passionate tutors. Each tutor brings their unique experiences, teaching styles, and contagious enthusiasm to their lessons. We handpick our tutors for their:
