M. Thornton Engineering Ltd is a family-run company, founded in 1989, with a rich history of delivering high-quality precision engineering services to a wide range of industries. Our inspection equipment is calibrated and traceable back to UKAS calibration quality standards, giving our customers peace of mind that their components meet the required standards.

Our Capabilities

We machine a wide range of materials, from plastics such as Peek and Nytron to high-temperature alloys such as Inconel and Monel. Our expertise extends to working with various companies in the oil and gas, power transmission, construction, water transfer and treatment, and nuclear industries.

Our History

M. Thornton Engineering Ltd was founded by Michael Thornton in 1989. We have a proud history of investing in personnel, upgrading, and investing in machine tools and equipment. Some notable milestones include the purchase of our first CNC Lathe in 1997, our first CNC 3-axis machining centre in 1998, and the addition of a wire-erosion machine in 2013. We have continued to invest in modern CNC machines, including the purchase of the Mazak Integrex 200-IIIs in 2005.
