Our Ground Floor Galleries, Cafe, and Shop are now accessible to the public, and we are thrilled to announce that our top floor will be open to visitors starting from Saturday 27th April. This expansion will offer our patrons an even more immersive experience, delving deeper into the city's past and its significance in the broader historical context.

What We Offer

  • Events: We host a variety of events throughout the year, from guided tours and workshops to talks and family-friendly activities. These events provide unique opportunities to engage with our collections and exhibitions in dynamic and interactive ways. Upcoming events include Civic Trust Tours exploring Roman Gloucester, LEGO workshops for different age groups, and a Roman Soldier Tour of the Eastgate Chamber.
  • Educational Programmes: We are committed to providing valuable educational experiences for schools and other learning institutions. Our programmes include facilitated activity sessions, schools-only museum access, and curated loan boxes. These resources enable educators to bring history to life in their classrooms and inspire students to delve into the past.

Current and upcoming exhibitions include Glorious Glevum, a guided introduction to Roman Glevum, and a Brick History Exhibition celebrating Tall Ships sailing into the city.

MEND Project

We are particularly excited to announce the launch of our MEND Project, an initiative that will unfold from Monday 8th January to Saturday 10th February 2024. This project will focus on mending, preserving, and celebrating various aspects of our collections and exhibitions, reflecting our commitment to maintaining the museum's integrity and relevance for future generations.
