Poor Condition of Vehicles
Several reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the condition of the vehicles they received. Stephen Quinn reported that the vehicle they received had a faulty heater and was dirty. The delivery driver claimed they didn't have time to wash it, but it had a quick hoover. The plastic cover underneath was hanging down and trailing on the road, which had to be removed and put in the boot.
Unhelpful Staff and Poor Customer Service
C. Byn, William Mooney, and Hugh-Thomas Nugent all reported having terrible experiences with the company, citing unhelpful staff and poor customer service. William Mooney had to pay an extra fee because of a strong smell of dogs in the car, which he wasn't told about beforehand. Hugh-Thomas Nugent claimed that the company scammed him out of 100 excess, using low-quality images to claim damage to the vehicle.
Disability Issues
Raymond Folliard was disappointed that the car he received did not have hand controls fitted permanently, which are essential for disabled people. He suggested that the company could do better in this regard.
Loss of Personal Items
XiFragstarX had a frustrating experience when they left their wallet in the hire car. Despite being told multiple times that it wasn't in the car, they eventually received a call saying it had been found. This raises concerns about the company's cleaning procedures.
Positive Experiences
On the other hand, several reviewers had positive experiences with the company. Bridget Gibson, Christopher Pearson, Deimantas Sultonas, Stacey L., Adrian McGivern, and Lynn Giles all praised the excellent customer service, professionalism, and value for money provided by Europcar. Sarah J. had a generally good experience, but suggested that a quick run-through of the car's operation would be helpful.
