Alupro: Advancing Aluminium Recycling in the UK
Alupro is a not-for-profit organisation with over 30 years of experience representing the UK's aluminium packaging industry. We work to meet and exceed recycling targets by collaborating with local authorities, waste management sectors, and the metal packaging industry to develop collection infrastructure. Our consumer education campaigns encourage participation in recycling schemes, and we act as the industry's voice on government policy and legislative development. With a membership spanning the full aluminium packaging loop, we provide expert advice on domestic and European policy issues. Our initiatives include Every Can Counts, MetalMatters, and Foil Recycling Programmes, which have driven record-breaking recycling rates and carbon savings. In 2023, we achieved 162,000 tonnes of aluminium packaging recycled, saving 2.3 million tonnes of carbon. We partner with councils, educators, and communities to inspire change and promote a circular economy for aluminium packaging.
