Flying Start Riding Centre

At Flying Start Children's Riding Centre, we are passionate about providing a safe, friendly, and exciting environment for children to learn and develop their riding skills. Our dedicated team of instructors, led by our owner and head instructor Vicky Wyatt, have many years of experience in teaching children to ride. We cater to children of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced riders.

Our Services

At Flying Start, we offer a range of services designed to support children in their equestrian journey. These include:

• Riding Lessons: Our 40-minute group riding lessons are structured to suit riders of similar abilities, with progression through gradings. We also offer private one-to-one tuition with our instructor, catering to all needs and abilities.
• Trailer Hire: We have a fleet of well-maintained trailers available for hire, perfect for transporting horses to and from events, or for transportation during competitions.
• Events Calendar: We regularly host events, including birthday parties and pony days, which are designed to be fun and exciting for children of all ages. We also offer our famous Flying Start show, exclusively for our more experienced riders.

We are located at Gotton Farm, Cheddon Fitzpaine, Taunton, TA2 8LL. Our facilities include:

• A large indoor arena, perfect for riding lessons and events
• Outdoor paddocks and grazing areas for our friendly horses
• A dedicated team of instructors and volunteers
• Well-maintained trailers for hire

Our Community

At Flying Start, we believe in creating a sense of community and camaraderie among our riders. We encourage all our helpers and volunteers to participate in our helpers course before they start tacking up and leading, ensuring that both children and horses are comfortable and safe. Our instructors are also committed to providing constructive criticism and positive reinforcement to support our riders in their equestrian journey.
