Your local experts, guiding you every step of the way
Upton Day Nursery is an independent provider of high-quality childcare, situated in a residential area close to local schools, colleges, shops, and businesses in Cheshire. Our Day Nursery, which is accessible via the main road, offers a warm, friendly, and inviting environment where our dedicated staff are committed to the well-being and development of the children in their care.
We pride ourselves on our bright and welcoming nursery, which consists of three separate age rooms: Baby Room (0-2 yrs), Toddler Room (2-3 yrs), and Pre-School Room (3-5 yrs), all of which are supervised by highly qualified staff with qualifications ranging from NVQ Level 4, 3, and 2. Our apprentices are all working towards gaining a minimum Level 2 qualification. We ensure the safety and security of the children in our care by installing CCTV and a high-tech security system linked to a monitoring station, which is active during closing time.
Curriculum and Pedagogy
At Upton Day Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which is designed to support the development of children from birth to five years. Our curriculum is based on the four guiding principles of EYFS, which are:
1. Every child is a unique child, who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident, and self-assured.
2. Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
3. Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners and parents and/or carers.
4. Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates.
Our pedagogical approach is centered on play-based learning, which is a child-led approach that allows children to learn through their interests and experiences. We provide a range of resources and activities that promote all areas of learning and development, including personal, social, and emotional development, communication and language, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
Outdoor Play
At Upton Day Nursery, we believe that outdoor play is an essential part of a child's development. We have a large garden area that provides children with the opportunity to explore, discover and learn in a natural environment. We offer a range of outdoor activities that promote physical development, such as climbing, running, and digging, as well as activities that promote cognitive development, such as sensory play, water play, and gardening.
Safety and Security
The safety and security of the children in our care is our top priority. We have a range of measures in place to ensure the safety and security of the nursery, including CCTV and a high-tech security system linked to a monitoring station. We also ensure that all staff are subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring System) check upon employment.
Staff Training and Development
We are committed to providing regular training and professional development opportunities for our staff. We conduct regular training in Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Food Hygiene, and Managing Children's Behaviour. We recognize the importance of a trained and motivated workforce in delivering the necessary care and commitment to your children.
