About Us

Hazelhurst Children's Nursery was established in 1990, with the aim of providing a high-quality day care nursery that prioritises the happiness and wellbeing of its charges above all else. We believe that children can only truly thrive in an environment that is both caring and stimulating, and we strive to create just such an atmosphere in all that we do.

We recognise that young children are not simply miniature adults, but individuals with their own unique needs and developmental trajectories. As such, we avoid placing undue pressure on our charges to achieve academic success, instead focusing on creating the conditions that will allow them to develop their physical, mental, and social skills naturally.

We believe that social skills are of particular importance, as they will form the foundation for successful relationships and interactions throughout a child's life. By providing a nursery environment that encourages mixing, relating, and cooperating with both peers and adults, we aim to give each child an enquiring mind and a well-rounded outlook on life.

Organisation

At Hazelhurst Children's Nursery, we divide the children into three main groups based on age and development. Each group is supervised by a dedicated team leader, ensuring that every child receives the attention and care that they need.

We recognise that children develop at their own pace, and moving through the groups is based on a child's individual development rather than simply their age. We also offer a before and after school service exclusively for our clients, to help make commuting to work more convenient.

Meals

Here at Hazelhurst, we provide a nutritionally sound diet that is low in fat and sugar and high in fibre. All of our food is home-cooked in our purpose-built kitchen, using fresh produce wherever possible. We provide the children with fresh fruit daily, and our menus are constantly under review, with parental suggestions always welcome.

Meals for the children are provided as follows:

• 8.30 - Breakfast - cereal / toast / milk
• 12.00 - 13.15 Lunch - a two-course home-cooked meal is provided for all children
• 15.45 - 16.30 Tea - a light main course

An additional snack of fruit and a drink is given either mid-morning or mid-afternoon depending upon the times that the group eats their main meals. Additional drinks are available on demand at all times. Any special dietary requirements or allergies will be catered for.

Fees
