Warm, Welcome & Comfortable Surroundings

Nestled in the heart of North London, Highgate Golf Club offers a unique and tranquil 18-hole golf course just 25 minutes away from King's Cross Station. Set amidst rolling parkland, this sanctuary provides golfers spectacular views of North London while challenging them with its undulating layout. Established in 1904, the club has a rich history, with its design having evolved through the years to offer a stern test that measures 6,033 yards, par 69, and standard scratch of 70 for men and just under 5,500 yards with par 72 and standard scratch of 72 for women.

At Highgate Golf Club, we take pride in providing a stimulating yet fair golfing experience for golfers of all abilities. The course layout encourages creativity and shot-making while rewarding strategic play, allowing rounds of golf to be completed within just a little over three hours. Its compact layout and flexibility make it an ideal location for a quick nine holes before work or an evening of golf followed by a drink on the terrace. While the location may suggest otherwise, Highgate Golf Club provides a true, unspoilt golfing experience just minutes away from Central London.

Whether you're a junior or a lifelong golfer, Highgate Golf Club offers a nurturing environment that fosters a deep appreciation for the game. The club supports several schemes and initiatives that aim to introduce golf to a wider audience, including the Women in Golf Charter and Ladies Get Into Golf program. These initiatives allow us to create a warm and inviting golfing culture that encourages participation and enduring engagement.

The Golf Course

Designed by C.S. Butchart on 83 acres of land once belonging to the hunting estate of the Bishops of London, Highgate Golf Course offers an intoxicating blend of old-world character and new-world challenges. The course layout was altered significantly in 1928 due to the construction of the Bishopswood Reservoir beneath the 10th and 13th holes. This 40-million-litre reservoir is essential to the water supply in North London and is integral to the unique charm of Highgate Golf Course.

The course's White tees measure 6,033 yards, par 69, and standard scratch of 70. The ladies' course spans just under 5,500 yards with par 72 and standard scratch of 72. Testifying to the challenge posed by the course, the men's amateur course record of 66 was first scored in 1984 and has never been surpassed.

From the first tee to the 18th green, golfers are treated to a diverse, exciting and strategic layout designed to test all aspects of their game. With a selection of par 3s, 4s and 5s, the course provides a variety of challenges and rewards that reflect the unique character and contours of the land.
