Our Background
Meet Adrian and Linda Croxford, the owners of Petlodge. With over 30 years of combined experience in dog ownership and training, we have a deep understanding of the importance of providing a loving and nurturing environment for your pets. Our son, Daniel, has grown up surrounded by dogs and has developed a passion for dog agility, which has led to many exciting adventures and achievements. We are proud to say that our son has represented England in international dog agility competitions and has won numerous prestigious awards.
Our Facilities
Our boarding kennels at Petlodge are designed to provide a safe and comfortable environment for your pets. Our state-of-the-art facilities are fully licensed by Canterbury City Council and offer a range of amenities to ensure your pet's physical and emotional well-being. Our kennels are large enough to cater for two medium/large size dogs, and every kennel has its own individual covered run. We take pride in our high staff-to-dog ratio, with one full-time and three part-time members of staff on hand to provide personalized attention to each and every pet.
Our Daily Routine
At Petlodge, we believe that a regular daily routine is essential for your pet's happiness and well-being. Our daily routine includes a early morning start, where our guests are greeted with their breakfast, followed by a walk or exercise session. This allows your pet to digest their food before the staff arrive and take them out for the first of their daily walks/exercise. Every guest is given individual attention and care, and our team of long-term staff and additional peak holiday period staffing ensures that all dogs receive a walk at least twice a day.
Feeding
We understand the importance of providing your pet with a balanced and nutritious diet. While we can't offer every make and range of dog food on the market, we do offer a quality complete range of Beta and Bakers dog food. We believe that every pet is unique, and their dietary needs may vary. If your pet has specific dietary requirements, please let us know in advance so we can make the necessary arrangements.
Medications
We are happy to administer all forms of medication, including ointments, tablets, powders, drops, and injections. Our system records and lists all our guests' medication requirements, ensuring that every pet receives the care they need. Upon arrival, we ask owners to provide us with their pet's medication chart, and we will take it from there.
Requirements to Board
To board at Petlodge, your dog will need to provide proof of vaccination and to sign our boarding agreement. We ask that owners provide us with their pet's historical medication information and any specific dietary requirements. We are happy to accommodate most breeds and sizes of dogs, but please note that we maintain a strict no puppies under 12 weeks and no more than 2 dogs per household policy.
Hydrotherapy Referral Centre
Our hydrotherapy referral centre offers a safe and controlled environment for your pet to receive underwater treadmill exercise, swim therapy, and sensory stimulation. Our qualified hydrotherapists will work with you to develop a personalized rehabilitation program to help your pet recover from injury or surgery, improve their joint mobility, or simply to enhance their overall well-being.
Training and Shows
At Petlodge, we believe that training and socialization are essential for a happy and well-behaved pet. Our indoor training centre offers a range of classes, including obedience, agility, and canine first aid. We also host regular dog shows and events, providing a platform for pet owners to socialize their pets and enjoy some friendly competition.
