Our Heritage
Our founder, Ernest William Brown, was more than just a funeral director. His story is typical of some of the fine men that Hull has produced over the years. In his youth, he was a successful sportsman who played rugby for Hull FC and later switched to Hull Kingston Rovers, leading them to the Yorkshire Cup under his chairmanship. He served as a councillor on the City Council and was due to be given the honor of becoming Lord Mayor of the City, although this never came to pass due to his untimely death.
