Electron Beam Strip Welders

DCL Fusion has extensive experience with Electron Beam Strip Welding, having designed both single and twin gun systems. Originally designed for the CRT industry, our Strip Welders are now used in a multitude of industries, from saw blade to electronics. We also provide refurbishments and upgrades for existing equipment, utilising existing, electron guns, chamber, and pumping systems to replace ageing equipment at minimal cost. Our upgrade kits produce new modern control systems to extend the life of existing equipment.

Electron Guns and High Voltage Power Supplies

DCL Fusion offers a range of Electron Guns, both 60kV and 150kV. These guns, designed in conjunction with the TWI, have been used in the electron beam welding industry since 1990. Specifically designed for welding, the high energy density spot, in a range of sizes, provides a solution for all welding applications. We combine these superb Electron Guns with exceptionally reliable high frequency power supplies. 60kV and 130kV Power Supplies are available in a range of power ratings. The combination results in superb ripple-free welding even at high welding speeds.

Refurbishment and Upgrades

At DCL Fusion, we specialise in refurbishing and upgrading existing Electron Beam Welding equipment. We believe in extending the life of existing equipment and offer a variety of services to achieve this. Our upgrade kits provide new modern control systems and electronic and electrical systems, complete with modern circuit breakers. We also replace the High Voltage system with a modern Switch Mode System, with integrated Filament and Grid Supplies. The 60kV High Voltage Power Supply is available in 1kW, 3kW and 8kW versions.

Reliability and Cost-Effectiveness

Our refurbishment and upgrade services are designed to provide reliable and cost-effective solutions for our clients. By reusing elements of the original equipment, we can significantly reduce costs compared to purchasing a new system. We also offer the option to refurbish items such as the original vacuum chamber and electron gun, which can result in considerable savings over manufacturing replacement components. Additionally, reusing existing tooling can help reduce retraining costs for staff.
