The Restaurant
At the Halfway Bridge Restaurant, we pride ourselves on a menu that tantalises the taste buds and delights the senses. Our dishes are inspired by the seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients that we carefully select from the finest suppliers in the area. Our chef's expertise in traditional English and Mediterranean cuisine ensures that there is always something to excite the appetite.
Our restaurant offers a simple but elegant decor, with fabulous open fires and dining offered in a choice of intimate nooks. In good weather, alfresco dining on our pretty terrace or in the sheltered garden is an idyllic experience. We also accommodate small group bookings in one of several private dining rooms.
Our connoisseur's wine list complements the menu, with many wines served by the glass to help you discover a favourite. We also offer a fine selection of Sussex ales that are sure to delight.

Service and Atmosphere
The majority of the guests have praised the friendly and attentive staff, with some mentioning that the managers, Mark and Sharlene, are particularly warm and welcoming. The atmosphere is generally described as warm and welcoming, with a cosy setting and a beautiful green area outside the rooms. However, there have been a few instances where guests felt the staff were not as friendly and welcoming as they could be.
Food Quality
The food served at the Halfway Bridge Inn has been highly praised by many guests, with delicious high-end dishes and a varied menu. The Thai green veg curry, fish & chips, and desserts such as the chocolate fondant have been particularly highlighted as outstanding. However, there have been a couple of instances where the food did not meet expectations, such as the Thai curry not matching the menu description and the hot chocolate fondants being barely lukewarm.
Value for Money
While the majority of the guests have found the Halfway Bridge Inn to be good value for money, a couple of guests have mentioned that the prices are a bit high for the quality of the service and food received.
