My love for the guitar began at an early age, listening to the iconic sounds of the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. It was when I discovered my father's old three-string guitar in our loft that I knew this instrument was destined to play a significant role in my life. I quickly started lessons and before long, I was performing in bands such as The Lizard Kings, The Electric Lizard Experience, Blitz Tennessee, Even Low, and Rosa Klebb. Now, I primarily focus on teaching the guitar, helping students like you to fulfill their musical aspirations.

Every student that comes to Plucks Away Guitar Lessons has unique goals and ideas about what they want to achieve through learning the guitar. It is my job to help you reach those goals, whether you aim to become a professional or simply want to enjoy playing as a hobby. I teach a wide range of music styles, and I can also help you learn scales, read guitar notation and tablature, and develop your ability to play by ear. However, I believe that the most crucial aspect I can offer is teaching you the songs and music styles that you want to learn.

As a member of the UK Registry of Guitar Tutors, I can coach you through the Preliminary Grade up to Grade 5 of the Registry of Guitar Tutor's Electric Guitar exams and up to Grade 5 of the Rock Guitar Performance Grades if you wish to take them. I am fully DBS checked and have an enthusiastic yet relaxed approach to teaching the guitar, which I am confident you will enjoy.

Lesson Material Adaptation

Lesson materials can be adapted to suit Duke of Edinburgh entry requirements. I am based in Caversham, approximately a 15-minute walk from Reading station, and there is plenty of parking available on the road.
