Hill Head Sailing Club

Hill Head Sailing Club is a family-friendly club located on the Solent, a beautiful site that provides the perfect backdrop for our sailing and water sports activities. Our mission is to promote sailing and other watersport activities both on and off the water, and we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.

We offer an active dinghy racing programme, with regular races and regattas that cater to sailors of all abilities. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, you'll find a race that's right for you. We also provide recreational sailing activities, giving our members the opportunity to explore the Solent and enjoy the beautiful scenery at a more leisurely pace.

For those who are new to sailing, we offer confidence-building coached sailing sessions. Our qualified instructors will help you to develop your skills and confidence on the water, giving you the foundation you need to enjoy sailing for years to come. We are an RYA Training Centre and Onboard Access Centre, which means that we are committed to providing important start sailing opportunities to the local community.

If you're new to the area and looking for a great place to sail, or if you're new to sailing and want to learn, Hill Head Sailing Club is the place for you. We have a new members evening every fourth Friday of the Month from 18:30 hours, so you can come and look round and talk to us.

Our Services

At Hill Head Sailing Club, we offer a range of services designed to help our members get the most out of their sailing and water sports activities. These include:

• Dinghy racing: We offer an active dinghy racing programme, with regular races and regattas that cater to sailors of all abilities.
• Recreational sailing: We provide recreational sailing activities, giving our members the opportunity to explore the Solent and enjoy the beautiful scenery at a more leisurely pace.
• Coached sailing sessions: We offer confidence-building coached sailing sessions for those who are new to sailing or looking to improve their skills. Our qualified instructors will help you to develop your skills and confidence on the water.
• RYA Training Centre: We are an RYA Training Centre, which means that we offer a range of RYA-approved sailing courses for all levels.
• Onboard Access Centre: We are an Onboard Access Centre, which means that we are committed to providing important start sailing opportunities to the local community.
• Club dinghies, kayaks and stand up paddle boards (SUPs) hire: We have a range of club dinghies, kayaks and SUPs available for hire, making it easy for our members to get out on the water.
• Cruiser social sailing and racing: We offer cruiser social sailing and racing, giving our members the opportunity to enjoy the Solent on a larger scale.
• Kayaking and Stand up Paddleboarding (SUP): We have a range of kayaks and SUPs available for hire, making it easy for our members to enjoy these popular water sports.

Location

We are located on the stunning Solent, which provides the perfect backdrop for our sailing and water sports activities. Our clubhouse is situated in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight. We are tide dependent for recreational and racing, but this only adds to the excitement and challenge of sailing at Hill Head Sailing Club.
