Our History

The story of Westfield Transport began in 1976 when Robert Walker, then 24, and his wife Maureen, discussed starting their own business in the New Inn pub at Goonhavern. With Robert's HGV license and the guidance of Maureen's father, Daniel O Leary, a seasoned lorry driver and businessman, they decided to venture into the road transport industry.

In 1977, they purchased a Seddon Atkinson from Panel Commercials in Launceston, marking the unofficial start of Westfield Transport. The business was officially established in 1979, with Robert initially focusing on local house removals and the farming industry in Cornwall. He quickly expanded the business, securing large print contracts and diversifying the fleet to cater to the needs of a growing clientele.

Over four decades, Westfield Transport has evolved into a Cornish success story, providing employment to thousands of locals and contributing significantly to the local economy through supply chain purchasing.
