Our History

Elm Farm has a rich history that dates back to its days as a working farm. In the 1920s, the previous family owners opened a small camping ground at Elm Farm, which quickly became a popular destination for holidaymakers. Over the years, the park has evolved and grown, but the sense of community and connection to the local area has always remained.

In the 1940s, small teardrop caravans, horse-drawn caravans, and even a converted ex-RAF coach began to arrive at Elm Farm. The park became a popular destination for holidaymakers seeking a peaceful retreat, and the family continued to invest in modern machinery and facilities.

In the 1980s, with growing food mountains and a national reduction in agriculture, it was decided that Elm Farm was to be put up for sale by auction. However, for the Morris family, who had enjoyed owning holiday homes on the small caravan site since 1956, Elm Farm was a special place. In 1982, Peter Morris bought Elm Farm and began modernising the caravan site with new roads and services for each plot.

In 2007, Peter's Son, Neil, and his Wife Sarah took over management of Elm Farm, re-branded as Elm Farm Country Park, and began work on the new lodge development. Neil and Sarah are committed to maintaining the historic values of a family-owned and managed holiday park and are dedicated to steering Elm Farm successfully into the future, leaving a legacy for their children, grandchildren, and future generations.
