Timeless beauty, expertly restored

A Family Business Since 1971

Michael & Patricia Oxley began collecting antique clocks in the late 1960's, and as their passion and expertise grew, the business was formed in 1971. In 1993, Christopher Oxley joined the family business, and together they have built an enviable reputation for selling only original and correctly restored antique longcase clocks and barometers. Our clocks are renowned for their superior quality, and we take great pride in the meticulous care taken in restoring each timepiece to its former glory.

The Origins of the Longcase Clock

The longcase clock, also known as the grandfather clock, was first developed in the late 17th century in England. The design was an evolution of the earlier lantern clock, and allowed for a longer pendulum, resulting in greater accuracy. Longcase clocks quickly became popular, and were seen as a symbol of wealth and status. The ornate designs and intricate carvings of the cases made them a popular choice for homes and public buildings, and they remain a beloved classic to this day.
