At Milky Way Pre-School Playgroup, we are dedicated to providing high-quality childcare services to families in Longsight, Manchester, and the surrounding areas. We strive to provide a balance of activities and learning experiences that cater to the individual needs of each child, giving them the best possible start in their early years.
Our History
Milky Way Pre-School Playgroup was established in September 2012 and operates from a large room in the Greater Manchester Bangladeshi Community Centre (GMBA) at Birch Lane. We have a team of highly qualified and experienced staff, including our Teacher/Manager, Mr. Monsur A Khan, who is dedicated to providing exceptional care and education to our children.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to support working parents, including full-time and part-time care, flexible hours, and split sessions. Our pre-school playgroup is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm, and we provide a stimulating environment that encourages children to explore, learn, and develop at their own pace. We also offer 15 hours of free funding entitlement to eligible families.
Our Approach
We follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum for the Early Years and work closely with the Manchester Quality Assurance Team to ensure that we provide the highest standards of teaching and learning. Our mission statement reflects our commitment to providing a secure and happy environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. We believe that children learn best when they feel valued, trusted, and confident in their own ability, and we strive to create a positive atmosphere that encourages self-confidence, self-discipline, and independence.

We aim to provide a commitment to the highest standards of teaching and learning, improved by a continuing programme of staff development. We also work closely with parents and the wider school community to provide the best education possible and to encourage respect for others' beliefs and cultures.
