TEC PA & Lighting

TEC PA & Lighting is a student-run organisation based at the University of Nottingham, dedicated to providing high-quality sound, lighting, and audio-visual services to both university and non-university clients. Our team is composed entirely of volunteers, each one trained and experienced in delivering excellent service to our customers. Over the years, we have built up a substantial stock of equipment, enabling us to cater to a wide range of events, from small open mic nights to massive arena concerts.

Our History

The University of Nottingham technical committee was established in the early 1940s, initially providing technical services to University College Nottingham. As time passed, TEC expanded its remit to include theatrical technical services for the university. Today, TEC maintains a strong alumni network, which holds an annual dinner each year.

Our People & Training

Each member of TEC is a dedicated volunteer, committed to delivering an exceptional service to our clients. Many of our members have gone on to work in the events industry professionally. We welcome new members throughout the academic year and provide extensive training in all areas, ensuring that everyone learns something new. Committee

Our committee is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the organisation. Here are the current members of our committee:

• Alfie Coe, Treasurer
• Toby Wong, Logistics Manager

Sam Windle, our Technical Director, has oversight of all aspects of TEC. He liaises with the Students' Union and various other people to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Outside of TEC, Sam enjoys climbing and spending time with his dog, Bonsai.

Alfie Coe, our Treasurer, manages all things money-related. He's a second-year accounting student who enjoys photography outside of TEC.

Toby Wong, our Logistics Manager, is responsible for looking after and maintaining all of our equipment. He's a second-year Law student.

Our members regularly spend time in the office, and we welcome visitors to pop in and say hi. Our storeroom is located on Kings Meadow Campus, and we can arrange to meet you there by prior arrangement.

Services

At TEC PA & Lighting, we provide a range of sound, lighting, and audio-visual services to suit a wide variety of events.

• Sound Services: From the smallest pair of speakers on stands to a 25-kilowatt arena sound system and a new d&b Line Array, TEC has the capability to serve a wide variety of venues and audiences.
• Lighting Services: Our lighting services include stage lighting, architectural lighting, and effects lighting. We use both LED and conventional fixtures, providing a wide range of options for your event.
• AV Services: We offer a range of AV services, including projector hire, plasma screen hire, and live camera feeds. We can also provide technicians to manage the equipment during your event.
