Our Philosophy
At Young Haymakers, we believe that young children blossom in a nurturing and stimulating environment, supported by highly qualified staff. We offer experiences that enhance their emotional, physical, and intellectual developments through various approaches, including Montessori Practice, Forest School, Early Years Foundation Stage, The Curiosity Approach, Sprinkle of Hygge and Reggio Emilia, and Yoga Classes. Our curriculum is designed to support holistic development, with a focus on outdoor learning at the heart of our ethos.
Outdoor Learning
Our large outdoor gardens and woodland spaces enable our children to benefit from our rural setting. We offer Forest School for all children within our 40-acre woodland, with vast outdoor spaces and outdoor classrooms within the Sussex countryside. Our children have access to authentic resources, with our nursery using the real items, enriching our environments with beautiful, natural, and authentic equipment.
Montessori Approach
Our nursery is proud to offer a Montessori Approach, using beautiful and high-quality equipment. We believe that childhood education should activate the child's natural desire to learn. Our staff is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child.

We are a small family-run business dedicated to providing high-quality early years experiences for young children in and around Waldron. We strive to be one step ahead in our childcare and education by providing Forest School for all our children within our 40-acre woodland, vast outdoor spaces and outdoor classrooms, excellent reputation, Montessori Approach, accessible outdoor spaces all year round, and authentic resources. We have a graded Led Nursery, outstanding Ofsted reports, and all our staff is trained to a minimum of Level 3.
At Young Haymakers, we offer free settling-in sessions, handpicked staff, and a parent panel. We reinvest and make continuous improvements, with parents' feedback driving the changes we implement. Our children benefit from the orchard, growing our own produce, and yoga classes, promoting physical and emotional well-being.
