Traditional Karate Classes in Billericay for All Ages
Established in 1994, Yushikai Karate Academy has over 25 years of experience training students of all ages and abilities. As one of the largest traditional karate academies in the UK, we operate from a purpose-built facility in Billericay since 2008, offering over 20 classes weekly to 200+ members across Essex. Our affiliation with the Japan Karate Association (JKA) ensures authentic training methods aligned with global standards. Our 3,500 sq. ft. facility features professional equipment, separate changing rooms, and showers maintained to the highest hygiene standards. Led by Chief Instructor Dave Paulus (6th Dan JKA), our team includes nationally and internationally recognized instructors who have achieved podium finishes at European Championships and represented England on global stages.

We emphasize traditional values of discipline, perseverance, and excellence, with structured programs for children, teens, and adults that develop physical fitness, mental focus, and character development. Our instructors hold prestigious JKA qualifications including Instructor (A), Judge (B), and Examiner (B) certifications. Through competitive success and technical committee appointments, we maintain leadership roles within JKA England, having coached national teams to historic championship victories. Our academy combines rigorous technical training with character-building principles that extend beyond the dojo into everyday life.
