Welcome to Beckermet Nursery, a reputable and established childcare facility that has been providing high-quality nursery educare since 1976. We are proud to be registered with OFSTED and to be members of the pre-school learning alliance. Our commitment to early years education and childcare is evident in our purpose-built, fully air-conditioned nursery, which is designed to provide a caring, flexible, and warm-hearted atmosphere for children.

At Beckermet Nursery, we understand that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Our assessment approach involves establishing what each child can do and planning the next step in their development. We believe that this individualised approach is crucial in fostering a love of learning and building a strong foundation for future success.

Our nursery is conveniently located near Sellafield, Egremont, Whitehaven, and surrounding areas, making it an ideal option for parents who need reliable and high-quality childcare. We are open from Monday to Friday, from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, providing flexible scheduling options for busy parents.

Our Services

At Beckermet Nursery, we offer a range of services designed to meet the needs of children and parents. Our services include:

• Baby Places: We have limited spaces available for babies, and our caring and experienced staff are dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest learners.
• 2/3 Year Old Places: We have spaces available for children aged 2-3 years old, and our programme is designed to support and enhance their development through play-based learning.
• Pre-school Places: We have limited availability for pre-school children until July 24. Our pre-school programme is designed to prepare children for the transition to school by building their social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
• Breakfast, Afterschool, and Holiday Clubs: We offer flexible and affordable options for before and after school care, as well as holiday clubs during school breaks.

In addition to our regular services, we also offer additional services such as:

• Access to the Sellafield Site: If you currently have a child/children attending Beckermet Primary School and/or Beckermet Nursery CIO or if you are considering enrolling your child in either the school or nursery and you have a requirement to access the neighbouring Sellafield site on a daily basis, you may be eligible for an access token that allows parking on the adjacent Yottenfews car park.
• Staff Vacancies: While we currently do not have any staff vacancies, we welcome CV submissions for future reference.

Additional Information

We work very closely with Beckermet School, providing a seamless and easier transition from nursery to school for pre-school children. Our staff accompany the pre-school children into school on a daily basis, allowing them to become familiar with the new surroundings, use the main hall for PE lessons, and receive monthly visits from the reception teacher.
