Moray Art Centre

Moray Art Centre (MAC) is a registered charity based in Moray, Scotland, with the charity number SC028270. Our mission is to make art accessible to all people in Moray by exploring the beauty of life through creativity and community. We are proud to work with local artists and tutors to offer a variety of experiences, from 3-hour taster workshops to weekly art clubs and family-friendly events. Our calendar also features an exciting range of exhibitions, Summer School programmes, and festivals for all to enjoy.

Our Programme

Our annual programme includes local and international exhibitions, classes, and weekend workshops for all levels. During July and August, we host a vibrant summer school taught by award-winning artists and tutors, attracting both local art enthusiasts and international visitors. We also offer volunteer opportunities, enabling individuals to gain experience and contribute to the local arts community.

Our Building

For nearly 20 years, the Moray Art Centre has offered an annual programme of local and international exhibitions and events alongside a full programme of classes and weekend workshops for all levels. In 2020, we entered into a new phase of our evolution by selling and sharing the centre building with Ekopia Social Investments Limited. As a result, MAC can now continue to run our many in-person and online classes, workshops, and Summer School while exhibiting work in the beautiful gallery spaces.

Accessibility

We are committed to making art accessible to all people in Moray. Our programme includes a variety of experiences, from taster workshops to weekly art clubs and family-friendly events. Gift cards and annual memberships are available for purchase throughout the year, ensuring that everyone can join in. We also offer a monthly newsletter, keeping subscribers up-to-date with upcoming exhibitions and members-only events.

Emerging Creatives Hub

At MAC, we support emerging artists by creating immersive knowledge hubs and community events to establish a path into creative industries. We believe that nurturing and promoting local talent is essential to the growth and vitality of the arts community.

Creativity and Nature Wellbeing Network

We are proud to be part of the Creativity and Nature Wellbeing Network, a collective of organisations that use creativity and nature to improve mental health and wellbeing. Our programme includes free art in nature workshops, providing opportunities for individuals to connect with nature and express their creativity.
