Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond the production of our high-quality products. We believe that minimising environmental impacts is crucial in an industry that relies on mineral resources. Our sustainability efforts include responsible sourcing of materials, efficient energy usage, and responsible transportation practices.

*Responsible Sourcing of Materials*

Aggregates account for over 90% of the materials used in our products, making them the primary focus of our responsible sourcing efforts. All aggregates are sourced from reputable companies that comply with the latest regulatory legislation and adhere to ISO 14000 where appropriate. We prioritize marine sources for our aggregates, which have minimal visual environmental impact and are strictly controlled and monitored by government agencies. By-products of other industrial processes are utilized as aggregate replacements or pigments, and we are currently testing the inclusion of recycled aggregates in some products.

*Efficient Energy Usage*

Minimising energy usage helps to reduce the depletion of natural resources and lower the levels of embodied CO2 in our manufactured products. We employ insulated curing chambers, exothermic heat from hydrated concrete, additives for curing, modern machinery with efficient electric motors and hydraulic drives, and electric forklift trucks where possible. We closely monitor electricity usage to identify areas for improvement.

*Responsible Transportation Practices*

Transportation has a significant impact on the environment, contributing to fuel depletion and the production of harmful pollutants. We have implemented a number of practices to reduce transportation's impact on the environment. Over 80% of our goods are delivered within a 50-mile radius, and our goods are delivered using 5 times less fuel compared to nationally distributed goods. By prioritising local delivery, we significantly reduce fuel usage and harmful pollutants per tonne of delivered goods.
