Welcome to Kilmory Workshop, a haven of exquisite handmade woodwork nestled on the picturesque Isle of Arran. Our skilled craftsman, Dave Furze, creates stunning pieces of wooden artistry using timber sourced directly from the island's abundant forests. From planking the trees to crafting the final product, every stage of the process is carried out on our premises, ensuring the utmost quality and attention to detail.
At Kilmory Workshop, we specialise in woodturning, producing an array of items such as bowls, rolling pins, breadboards, vases, lampbases, mirrors, barometers, and clocks. Each piece is unique, displaying the inherent beauty and character of the wood. Our furniture, including coffee tables, bedside cabinets, and chairs, is carefully crafted and finished with an oiled sheen. We also create bespoke housesigns from oak, embellished with a microporous varnish for lasting elegance.
Our woodwork is not confined to a particular type of wood. We use a diverse selection of timber, including ash, oak, sycamore, elm, larch, beech, birch, laburnum, horse chestnut, and sweet chestnut. Each type brings its unique qualities to the final product, adding depth and variety to our collection.
Opening Times and Contact
We are open Tuesday to Thursday from 10am to 5.30pm and on weekends when the flag is flying and the sign is displayed at the end of the road by the church.
