Our Services

As the international federation for sailing, World Sailing offers a wide range of services designed to support and develop the sport. We work closely with our 144 Member National Authorities (MNAs) to ensure that sailing continues to flourish and reaches its full potential in every corner of the world. Our services include:

1. Governance and Policy Development: We establish and maintain the rules and regulations that govern international sailing, ensuring consistency, fairness, and safety in the sport. Our policies are developed through a collaborative process that involves athletes, coaches, officials, and member nations.

2. Events and Championships: World Sailing organises and sanctions a variety of international events, including the Olympics, Paralympics, and World Championships. These events showcase the very best of sailing talent and provide opportunities for athletes to compete at the highest level.

3. Rankings and Classification: We maintain a global ranking system that allows sailors to measure their performance against their peers. This system encourages competition and recognises achievement in the sport. Additionally, we classify and categorise boats to ensure fair and equitable racing.

4. Education and Training: World Sailing offers a comprehensive education and training programme designed to develop the skills and knowledge of those involved in the sport. This includes courses for athletes, coaches, officials, and event organisers.

5. Sustainability and Inclusion: We are committed to promoting sustainability and inclusivity in sailing. Our initiatives aim to reduce the environmental impact of the sport, increase diversity and accessibility, and ensure that sailing is a sport for all.
