Tripod Woodworks Designs has been at the forefront of contemporary furniture design and manufacturing since its inception in 1977 by Barry Feldman, a graduate of the Royal College of Art. Over the years, our designs have graced the pages of several esteemed publications, including 'The Sunday Times Supplement', 'House and Garden', 'Italian Vogue', 'Good House Keeping', and 'Beautiful Homes'. Our diverse portfolio, which includes designing and making hundreds of products for a varied clientele, encompasses commercial design consultancy and private homes.

Barry Feldman specializes in innovative space-saving design, with numerous multi-functional furniture items that fold, stack, or are otherwise dynamic. His keen interest in Architecture and sustainable energy has led to the design and development of prototype wind generators and solar ovens. In recent years, Barry has added lecturing in Furniture Design and making to his repertoire, an experience he finds immensely rewarding.

At Tripod Woodworks Designs, we are committed to nurturing new design talent and helping students achieve good design solutions. We believe in creating original, locally sourced, hand-made contemporary furniture that is both beautiful and practical. Our services extend to designing and manufacturing a wide range of wooden furniture pieces, including tables, chairs, beds, garden furniture, kitchens, lighting, office furniture, toys, accessories, and more.

Commissioning Work

If you are interested in commissioning a bespoke item, we would be more than happy to discuss your needs. The process typically involves the following stages:

1. Discussing the client's brief and project requirements

2. Undertaking a site visit and measuring the space

3. Completing initial drawings, discussing ideas with the client, and agreeing on materials, costs, and delivery schedule

4. Finalizing the design

5. Making, delivering, and installing the item upon receipt of a 50% deposit

Tripod Modular

At Tripod Woodworks Designs, we are proud to introduce our new and exciting eco-friendly small dwelling, Tripod. This sectional building is made of six triangular sections that bolt together to form a robust, attractive, and unique structure. The outer space seamlessly merges with the interior space, providing a spacious and tranquil interior, perfect for glamping accommodation or alternative use.

Each Tripod unit is fully insulated, weatherproof sealed, and equipped with natural lighting from windows integrated into the triangular sections. The units can be connected together to form larger accommodations and can be fitted with solar panels for off-grid use.
