He began his career with a leading regional firm of accountants, honing his skills and knowledge for over eight years, before moving on to work with a national accountancy practice. His extensive experience and passion for accountancy led him to return to his hometown of Shepton Mallet, where he became the manager of the small business section of another leading regional accountancy practice. During his tenure, Matthew built a strong network of contacts within the business community, further expanding his expertise and knowledge. After gaining invaluable insights and establishing a robust professional foundation, Matthew decided to establish Arcadia Accountancy Limited, offering tailored services and personalised expertise to the business community.

Matthew's commitment to the local business community extends beyond Arcadia Accountancy, as evidenced by his role as the chairman of Wells Chamber of Commerce and Tourism from 2013 to 2015.
