Our Heritage
Founded in Highland Perthshire in 1836, J. & H. Mitchell W.S. has a long and storied history of legal practice in the region. Our firm's first Solicitor, James Mitchell, established his practice at Dysart on the western edge of Pitlochry in 1836, and was later joined by his son Hugh in 1875, when our current firm name was established.
Our heritage of long services, dedication, and loyalty remains a defining characteristic of our firm. Our Managing Partner, Paul Keith, joined the firm in 2013 after practicing law in Crieff for seven years. Partner Alan Innes joined us in 2014, bringing with him over 25 years of legal experience, including 14 years with an Edinburgh and Fife-based legal practice.

He is actively involved in the local Highland Perthshire community and serves as a director of Pitlochry Highland Games and a Trustee of The Enchanted Forest Community Trust.
Alan Innes, one of our Partners, has over 25 years of legal experience and a real passion for 'later life' law. He is the Chair of the Abbeyfield Societies in Scotland and a Trustee of the Norah Webber Charitable Trust.
