At Bright Eyes Nursery, we believe that play is the foundation of early years education. We have developed a curriculum that is based on the principles of The Curiosity Approach and Birth to 5 Matters, which allows us to provide individualised learning experiences that are tailored to each child's unique needs and interests. Our approach to learning is holistic, combining adult-led guidance and child-initiated exploration to foster creativity, independence, and a love for learning that will last a lifetime.
Our Curriculum
Our curriculum is designed to support children's development from birth to five years of age. We recognise that every child is unique and develops at their own pace, and our curriculum reflects this. We are committed to delivering the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to all children in our care, and have chosen to base our curriculum on Birth to 5 Matters. This approach allows us to focus on ranges rather than ages, providing parents with reassurance when it comes to reviewing their child's progress.
Our planning is based on individual needs and next steps, with activities planned by the child's key person and based on their interests and recent events. We ensure a sufficient mix of both indoor and outdoor activities and a balance of adult-led and child-initiated activities. Adult-led activities provide new experiences and encourage children to participate in new activities, while child-initiated activities allow children to explore and learn at their own pace.
Over the last few years, Bright Eyes has spent time researching The Curiosity Approach, which has influenced our approach to learning.
