Watch the World go by and Chilax
Situated in the heart of Crystal Palace, London, Cafe St Germain has been serving the local community and visitors alike since 1997. As a family-run business, we take great pride in what we do and strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment for all our customers. Our double-fronted spot on the bustling Crystal Palace Parade offers both indoor and outdoor brasserie-style dining, making us the perfect place to relax and watch the world go by.
The Venue
Our cafe is conveniently located opposite the world-famous Crystal Palace park, offering a semi-Parisian view of the iconic Crystal Palace antenna. Our heated patio, equipped with a dozen or so tables and umbrellas for the summer months and coverage for the winter months, is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a meal while soaking in the views. The interior of our cafe boasts two levels of seating, adorned with marbled tables, wood-effect walls, and classic framed French pictures, giving it a friendly yet typically French appeal. Our glass-fronted cabinet is always filled with an ever-diminishing array of freshly baked pastries and cakes, all made on-site.
The Atmosphere
The wooden decor and original-looking French apparel of our cafe create an ambiance that could very well transport you to the heart of Paris's Montmartre. The easy-listening tunes mix with the steam from our well-used industrial-size coffee machine, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Our staff is non-intrusive but friendly and efficient, ensuring that your dining experience is enjoyable and stress-free.
The Food
Our extensive menu represents much of Europe, from traditional English breakfasts to Croque Monsieurs, Spanish omelettes, and stuffed ciabattas. Our baguette pancetta, a fancy name for a BLT, is made with thick slices of griddled back bacon, crunchy iceberg lettuce, and fat tomato slices smothered in mayonnaise and served in a crisp warm baguette. Our full English offerings are complemented by continental breakfasts, which include freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat, all authentic and freshly baked. Our bistro-style specials are available every day at remarkably reasonable prices.
The Drink
We offer a wide range of good coffees, juices, soda, and teas, as well as babyccino's and milkshakes to keep the little ones happy. Our cafe au lait is as authentic as you would get even in the heart of Paris. For something a little stronger, we have a short wine list, a selection of spirits and liquors, and authentic Italian digestifs always available.
General Information
We are open six days a week from 8am to 3.30pm and offer a covered and heated front terrace for alfresco dining. Smoking is permitted in a designated area, and we offer table service by attentive and friendly staff in a relaxed setting. Private evening hire is available, and we take great pride in our sounds, playing music from all over the world to complete your dining experience. Many of our customers say they feel like they are in Paris when they dine with us.
We offer a variety of both Continental and English cuisine, from early morning cooked breakfast and freshly baked pastries to light brunch or full lunch.
