At DJ Laing, we are a family business with its roots firmly established in Tayside, renowned throughout the area for our business diversity in both the construction and house building sectors. Established in 1975 as DJ Laing Contracts, the company then moved into house building in 1989 and continues its success even today, with the company ethos focused on a quality product and service by our valued and trusted workforce.

Our History

The company, D J Laing (Contracts) Ltd was established by David and Dorothy Laing in 1975 as a civil engineering contractor to local authorities and national house builders. 1989 saw the company diversify into house building and then in 1990 into recycling, offering skip hire and waste management services. Although now retired from the business, David and Dorothy Laing still own the Company today. Now the next generation is shaping up for the future as the company continues its success, with daughter, Karen Nicoll as Managing Director and son Gary Laing as Quantity Surveyor.
