General Disappointment
The reviewers, Jess Hutchinson, had a extremely poor experience with a company they hired to supply and install black metal electric gates on their house. The company's work was marred by unprofessionalism, untidiness, and a series of costly mistakes.
Installation Problems
The installation process was plagued by issues, including damage to pillars, driveways, and paintwork on the gates. The gates themselves caught on the tarmac, exposing electrical cables, and continuously jarred when opening. Despite many attempts to fix the problems, the company failed to resolve the issues, leading to further damage.
Broken Promises
The reviewers agreed to allow the company to partially refund the cost if they could not fix the issues. However, the company failed to honour this agreement. Even after 2.5 years and over 15 visits, the gates still malfunctioned, causing ongoing frustration.
Poor Follow-up and Damage
During one of the visits, the company's representative, Leon, left the gates swinging in the wind, causing additional damage. In another incident, Leon returned without warning and attached a silver aluminium strip to the front of the gates, using silver screws, resulting in an unattractive finish.
Final Criticism
The reviewers are extremely dissatisfied with the company's work and advise others to avoid them at all costs. They intend to hire another company to remove the existing gates and install new ones. The reviewer even received an unexpected suggestion from Leon to take legal action against himself, further highlighting the company's incompetence.
