About Us
Lochandubh Pet Boarding is run by Fiona Woodhouse, who has been working with animals for over 40 years. Fiona started her career at Lynwater kennels, where she learned about dog breeding and training. She moved back to Argyll in 1989 and established her own dog training kennel business. In 1991, she expanded her business by buying the forestry cottages and land at Achacha, where Lochandubh Boarding kennels and cattery was born.
Fiona has always been passionate about animals, and she has dedicated her life to providing the best possible care for them. She has been involved in dog training, breeding, and rehabilitation for many years and has set up a new dog and cat rehoming charity registered as a SCIO - Fionas Ark, based at Lochandubh.
Fiona's family is also involved in the business, and her husband, Paul, and talented daughter, Anna May, all contribute to the smooth running of the kennels and cattery. Anna May has recently joined Fiona in partnership running the kennels, cattery, and the rehoming charity, while also running her own pet grooming service and helping her partner on the local farm.
Our remote woodland location is home to some additional pets, including peacocks, pigeons, and horses. The peacocks entertain our guests, while the horses provide a great way to relax and unwind in the local forestry tracks.
