Wathen Road Dental Practice is a family-run dental practice situated in the heart of Dorking, Surrey. Our practice has been serving the community for many years and has built a reputation for providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Our Practice
At Wathen Road Dental Practice, we promise to provide you with the best dental care possible. We will advise you on a treatment plan that we believe is in your best interest, in order to maintain a healthy smile. We believe in working with you to achieve your dental goals, and we will always take the time to listen to your concerns and answer your questions.
Our practice is located on the ground floor with full disabled access to the surgeries and all toilet facilities. We have a team of highly trained and experienced dentists, hygienists, and support staff who are dedicated to providing you with the best possible care.
Meet the Team
We have five dentists working part-time at our practice. Our two hygienists are available privately or under Denplan. Our dentists are:
- Dr Neil Douglas BDS (Sheff) GDC 64699: Neil qualified from Sheffield University School of Clinical Dentistry in 1989. Since qualifying, Neil has gained wide experience of NHS and private dentistry, including a year in private practice in Auckland, New Zealand. Neil and Sarah have owned the practice since 2001.
- Dr Ruby Ali BDS (Lon) GDC 83732: Ruby qualified from Guys, Kings and St Thomas Dental School in 2004. She is experienced in working in practices which have other specialists on-site, which enables her to provide complete patient care and collaborative treatment planning.
- Dr Hugh Cowley BDS GDC 80543: Hugh qualified at the University of Bristol in 2002. He has a special interest in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He attends Wathen Road Dental Practice once every two months in order to do extractions. Hugh has worked extensively in oral and maxillofacial surgery units in hospitals across the UK.

- Oral Health Plan: Our Oral Health Plan is a dental plan providing lower cost dentistry for those unable to find a local NHS dentist.
