Transforming Lives, One Piece of Furniture at a Time

As a registered charity since 1995, Furniture Helpline Ltd has been dedicated to helping people on low incomes, providing essential services and support to those in need. From our humble beginnings in Bordon, we have grown to cover an area of 647 square miles, serving Surrey, Hampshire, and West Sussex. Our range of services has expanded significantly, including the provision of furniture and kitchen appliances, crisis fund assistance, recycling and reuse solutions, and more.

Our Services

We manage our own self-funded Crisis Fund, which provides emergency assistance to individuals in need of urgent help. We work closely with local authorities, charities, professional agencies, and healthcare providers to ensure that those who require help receive it promptly. As an environmental solution provider, we offer services and consultative advice on recycling and reuse to Local, Borough, and County Councils, as well as businesses and individuals. We are responsible for bulky waste recycling collections on behalf of Guildford and Waverley Borough Councils, and within East Hampshire.

In addition to our core services, we are proud to be involved in various worthwhile causes, including the Men's Shed, where socially isolated individuals can use our fully equipped workshop; the local Repair Cafe, where our friendly volunteers repair items free of charge; the local Timebank, where people exchange time for expertise; and the local Fareshare food distribution scheme. We are also one of several local Registered Safe Places and offer volunteer placement schemes, where local people can learn about furniture repair or office administration.

Our Shop

In 2021, we opened our shop in Bordon's Forest Shopping Centre, offering a fantastic range of good quality furniture at decent prices. Our shop is a testament to our commitment to providing affordable and sustainable solutions to the local community.

Bulky Waste Collections

We operate a bulky waste recycling service on behalf of Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council, exclusively for residents in these areas. Our collections are from outside only, and we do not enter properties. We offer discounted rates to those in receipt of eligible benefits.
