Schwartz Printing is a company that has honed its craft in the printing industry for several decades. With a rich history that spans forty years, our team is comprised of seasoned professionals who are passionate about providing top-notch print services to our clients. Our vast experience is not limited to one area of the industry, as we take pride in our ability to handle all aspects of the printing process with expertise and precision.

Our team is led by Chris Futcher, the owner of the company who has an unmatched wealth of experience in the pre-press area of colour management. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the industry, Chris oversees all work that passes through the company, ensuring high-quality output and stringent quality control.

Daren Bilner, our production manager, is responsible for making sure that every job is produced to your satisfaction and delivered on time. His finishing expertise is unparalleled, and his ability to manage jobs through all the different processes is instrumental to the success of any project. Together with Chris, Daren manages quality control, and they both form part of Schwartz's estimating team.

Stewart Fixter serves as our sales manager and is responsible for ensuring that all our clients' needs are met. With a keen eye for detail and hands-on knowledge of the industry, Stewart keeps an eye on production and quality control. He has 27 years of experience in the industry and is also part of Schwartz's estimating team.

Christina Watson, our financial administrator, ensures the smooth running of the company. She combines being the health and safety officer with being the first aider and is the hub of the business, taking care of all the accounts and credit control.

Ian Jackson is our graphic designer who has many years of experience within Graphic Design and pre-press. He has gained a Certificate of Achievement from Screen in Trueflow Operation and is responsible for advising on the construction and transmission of artwork. Ian will check your artwork when it arrives, make sure you receive your digital or PDF proofs - usually within 24 hours - and run out colour matched plates on receipt of your signed-off proof. Ian will also be happy to undertake any minor amendments to your artwork if required.

Our production team consists of well over 100 years of combined service within the industry. With a pooled knowledge base that is second to none, we have specialist skilled operators in every aspect of the production processes, from reprographics, printing, and print finishing. We endeavour to advise and aid throughout the entire production process, and our clients can rest assured that we will never push on with a project at the expense of quality.

Our Technical Process

For those interested in how we get from pristine, clean paper through to the finished item, we have outlined the whole production process below.

The process begins in our Pre-press Department - a Mac suite where we interrogate the artwork supplied by clients, plan the job and run out high resolution digital proofs. Our Truflow proofing system is integrated with our CTP (computer to plate) unit which ensures colour-matched plates. Artwork can be supplied in a variety of formats including most PC software platforms and is archived on a 3 terabyte raid work station. The plates and the proof (for colour reference) go to the Machine Room where we can print from SRA3 (320x450mm) all the way up to B1 (720x1020mm) in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 colours on our Komori multi-functional press.

Our press can print in either UV or conventional inks, allowing us to provide our clients with a wide variety of options. The finished item is then passed on to our bindery department where it is trimmed, folded, stitched or perfect bound to meet your specifications.
