Our Services
The purchase of your home is likely to be the largest single investment you will make. It would therefore be prudent, prior to purchase, to ensure that you are completely aware as to whether it is in need of repair and, if so, to what extent. After moving in, you would not want to discover that unforeseen expensive repair or improvements are required.
We offer an independent professional survey and valuation service by way of one of the following three Options:
Market Valuation
You will be provided with a written Report briefly describing the property, together with a general comment on its overall condition and any features that may affect value, as well as our independent opinion of the market value of the property in its current condition. In addition, you will be provided with an assessment of the estimated current rebuilding cost of the buildings for insurance purposes.
Home Buyer Survey
A more detailed Report designed for traditionally built property constructed post 1850. This is a concise, easy to read Report on the general condition of the property. In it, we will identify significant defects and repairs that are essential at the time of our inspection, together with an appraisal as to forthcoming maintenance liabilities and other valuable information relating to the property.
Building Survey
Our most comprehensive Report, which provides a detailed inspection of the property, including the structure, fabric, and services. This Report is suitable for most types of property, including older properties, those with unique architectural features, or those that have undergone significant alterations.

All valuations carried out by Douglas Rigg Surveyors are undertaken by qualified Chartered Surveyors who have many years of experience of carrying out all types of valuations and surveys and who have detailed local knowledge.
