Hello and welcome to my creative sanctuary, where I, James, a Yorkshire-born artist, merge art and photography to celebrate the wonders of the natural world. With an unwavering passion for the delicate essence of a wren or the majestic presence of a grizzly bear, I have spent over a decade honing my artistic skills and nurturing my creative vision. My Fine Art degree from Northumbria University in Newcastle upon Tyne served as the foundation for my artistic journey, which eventually led me back to my hometown of Filey, North Yorkshire, where I established my own printmaking studio.

How I Work

Inspired by the serene coastal setting of my studio, I strive to encapsulate the beauty and diversity of animals through my artwork and photography. My creative process begins with careful observation of the natural world, followed by meticulous planning and preparation. Utilising various techniques such as collagraph printing, monoprints, and mini prints, I bring my visions to life, infusing each piece with texture, depth, and intrigue. My ultimate goal is to create a unique collagraph print for each bird species found in the United Kingdom, celebrating their beauty and diversity in a tangible way.
