Ground Source Heat Pumps
Ground source heat pumps extract low-temperature heat from the earth via underground pipe networks to provide home heating and hot water. Our systems use refrigeration cycles to transfer heat efficiently, requiring land space for ground arrays and indoor space for equipment. Installation begins with heat loss calculations to determine system size, followed by ground array placement and heat pump integration. These systems suit properties with sufficient outdoor space and low-temperature heating systems like underfloor heating.
Air Source Heat Pumps
Air source heat pumps absorb outdoor air heat to generate domestic hot water and heating, producing 3-5kW of energy per 1kW electricity used. Suitable for new builds or retrofits, they operate efficiently between 35-45C, with high-temperature models available for conventional radiator systems. Installation involves heat loss assessments, system design, and integration with existing heating infrastructure. These units offer lower running costs compared to fossil fuel boilers when paired with compatible heating systems.
Underfloor Heating
Our underfloor heating systems use warm water pipes beneath floors to distribute heat evenly, eliminating hot/cold spots and operating at 25-29C surface temperature. This solution improves energy efficiency by working with heat pumps at lower water temperatures, enhances safety by removing radiator hazards, and adds property value through space-saving design. We provide custom proposals including pipework layout, manifold installation, and integration with existing heating controls for both new builds and renovations.
Whole Home Heating Controls
We install advanced heating control systems from brands like Heatmiser, Drayton Wiser, and TADO to optimise energy efficiency and user comfort. These systems enable precise temperature regulation across multiple zones, scheduling options, and remote access via mobile apps. Our installations ensure seamless integration with renewable energy sources, allowing homeowners to maximise efficiency savings while maintaining consistent indoor climate conditions through automated adjustments and real-time monitoring.
Radiator Circuits
We design and install radiator circuits compatible with air/ground source heat pumps, including retrofitting microbore systems and upgrading existing radiators. Our solutions ensure optimal heat distribution at low water temperatures, with options for modern high-output radiators or custom configurations. The service includes pipework modifications, pressure testing, and integration with control systems to create cohesive heating networks that work efficiently with renewable energy sources.

Questions
What renewable energy grants are available in the UK?
Homeowners in England, Scotland, and Wales can apply for government grants like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, offering up to £7,500 for air source heat pump installations. We guide clients through the application process.
How long does a heat pump installation take?
Domestic installations typically take 3-7 days depending on system complexity. Commercial projects or ground array installations may require additional time, with timelines confirmed during the initial assessment.
Are heat pumps suitable for older properties?
Yes, but may require radiator upgrades or high-temperature models. We assess each property's heat loss and recommend compatible systems to ensure efficiency in period buildings.
Do you provide maintenance services for installed systems?
Yes, we offer annual servicing starting at £150 + VAT, including antifreeze checks, pipework inspections, and system optimisation to maintain efficiency and warranty validity.
What accreditations does Energy by Nature hold?
We are MCS, FGAS, and NICIEC accredited, Mitsubishi partners, Which? Trusted Trader approved, and members of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code for added consumer protection.
Can underfloor heating work with existing boilers?
While optimised for heat pumps, our systems can integrate with conventional boilers. We design hybrid solutions to maximise efficiency while ensuring compatibility with existing heating infrastructure.
