Forest Foods is a vegetarian bakery located in Manchester, UK. With a passion for great food and high-quality ingredients, our aim is to create delicious meat-free products that people remember and keep coming back for.
Our Story
Founded in 1994 by Sarah Bird, Forest Foods began as a small, family-run business with the aim of providing an alternative to the current range of vegetarian food-to-go. Sarah's influences from working in a Mexican restaurant in California can still be seen in our range today. She believed that vegetarian food doesn't have to lack flavour, and aimed to create products that offered more taste and imagination than those already on the market.
The business grew from strength to strength, with the products being tested by trading with On the Eighth Day, Manchester's oldest and biggest Health food shop, for a year. When approached by a distributor who wanted to take the products nationwide, it was time to expand. Today, we operate from a 1200 sq ft unit in Manchester, directly supplying health food shops, delis, and cafe bars within a 150-mile radius, as well as distributing nationwide through a comprehensive network of distributors.
Our Products
At Forest Foods, we offer a range of delicious vegetarian and vegan products, all made to order using fresh, high-quality ingredients. Our products are perfect for deli counters, and are available loose for serving over counters or wrapped with barcodes. Our packaging displays full nutritional information, and everything we make is delivered with a 7-day shelf life.
We deliver within a 200-mile radius of Manchester, but also have a nationwide network of health food distributors stocking our range. We also offer home delivery on smaller orders, sent via DPD with insulated boxes and frozen gel packs.
